The Institute for Religious Understanding and Sustainable Peacebuilding (IRUSP)

is an independent interdisciplinary research institute based in Maryland, USA, committed to advancing religious understanding, interfaith engagement, social justice, and sustainable peacebuilding through research, education, policy engagement, and community collaboration.

IRUSP was established in response to growing global concerns surrounding religious extremism, social polarization, violent conflict, inequality, migration, digital misinformation, and the urgent need for constructive dialogue across religious and cultural boundaries. The Institute serves as a platform for scholars, policymakers, faith leaders, civil society organizations, and community stakeholders to engage critical issues shaping religion and human society in the contemporary world.

Rooted in purpose, driven by measurable public impact.

IRUSP generates actionable knowledge, fosters interfaith engagement and informs public policy through collaboration with academic institutions, faith communities and civil society.
